On May 11, 2024, the European Union in Georgia is celebrating Europe Day with a grand event. For the second consecutive year, UNFPA Georgia Country Office will join the festivities, engaging adolescents, parents, and young people in interactive, educational, and fun activities.

1. Puppet show "Luna and the Planet of Fireflies”
When was the last time you enjoyed a puppet show?
Step back into your childhood and visit our enchanting magic tent to witness the captivating puppet show "Luna & the Planet of Fireflies."
The puppet show was created in 2022, upon the initiative of the of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office, in cooperation with Marneuli Culture Centre and with the support of the European Union.
“Luna and the Planet of Fireflies” is a story for children aged 7-10 and their parents introducing an ordinary family surrounded by magic adventures, in which parents share the responsibilities for child care as well as household chores; the parents support and encourage cheir children as they believe that each of them is unique and special, regardless of their gender. It reminds everyone that taking care of their closest people and coping with common challenges together is the basis of happiness and harmony in any family.
The puppet show is directed by Tato Geliashvili. The author of the script, which is based on the book of the same name by Dato Gorgiladze, is a writer and playwright Alexandre Lordkipanidze. The puppets for the show were designed by Armen Oganesyan.
It is part of the campaign “Do not differentiate: a girl and a boy are both your future!“, through which the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reminds everyone that both girls and boys are of equal value to their families, communities and countries.

In collaboration with Palitra L publishing and BG Era Games, we invite you to play the board game "Person" with beloved content creator Eleniko Fox.
The board game “Person” was launched in 2023 upon the initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in partnership with Palitra L publishing and BG Era Games, with the support of the European Union.
"Person" is more than just a game; it's a platform for players to confront, analyze, and debunk societal norms.

3. Ask a doctor

Get valuable insights and advice from leading gynecologist Maka Chikovani about your reproductive health at the WHO stand.
UNFPA, together with WHO, UNICEF and UNOPS, with the support of the European Union, are working with the Government of Georgia to develop essential telemedicine services.
One of our primary goals is to ensure that women, especially those in remote areas, have access to reproductive health services and screening programs.

4. What's in dad bag? - workshop for fathers
You've probably heard of a mom bag, but what about a dad bag?
Join Giorgi Liparishvili, facilitator of the "Fathers' School," for a workshop that explores what's inside a dad's bag and the importance of equal parenting and shared household chores.
UNFPA, along with its long-term partner Care Together, has been promoting equal parenting and shared responsibilities through the MenCare campaign for years.
The "Fathers' Schools" in Tbilisi and Kutaisi, established in 2021, have united over 100 fathers in this movement.
The kids visiting the pavilion 11 will be given coloring books prepared jointly by UNFPA and Palitra L publishing.

5. What we talk about when we talk about love?
Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion on the common values necessary for harmonious relationships at a panel discussion "What we talk about when we talk about love".
Renowned writers Nestan (Nene) Kvinikadze and Alexandre Lortkipanidze, actor Kakha Kintsurashvili, and UNFPA Communications and Partnerships Analyst Salome Benidze will share their insights. Writer and TV host Dato Gorgiladze will moderate the discussion.
Let's explore equal parenting, shared household chores, and the significance of harmonious relations in our society.

6. Comic book "Invisible” - fan-made sequel
Comic book enthusiasts - be invited at the award ceremony of the contest announced to create a fan-made sequel to our comic book "Invisible".
“Invisible” is a culturally sensitive and age-appropriate comics for girls and boys aged 13-16, jointly produced by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office and Palitra L publishing with the support of the European Union.
“Invisible” is a story about a girl who is not afraid of difficulties and seems to be trying to change the unequal environment for the better through small, insignificant steps. This story will once again convince us that there is no obstacle in the world that friendship, love and justice cannot overcome.
The author of the comics is Marta Urushadze; the illustrations were created by Tatia Nadareishvili. The script was developed by Martha Urushadze and Mikheil Tsikhelashvili.
