On December 2, the Bolnisi Museum hosted the Youth Forum organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office, together with the Network of Centers for Civic Engagement - NCCE, in cooperation with young people, local public institutions, youth organizations and civil society.
Governor of the Kvemo Kartli region Giorgi Dokhturishvili, Mayor of Rustavi Municipality Nino Latsabidze, Mayor of Bolnisi Municipality Davit Sherazadishvili and Head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office Lela Bakradze have addressed the audience.
The purpose of the Youth Forum is to provide a platform for young people to engage in a dialogue with members of local self-governments and civil society, which will facilitate putting issues of high importance for young people onto the local decision-making agenda and recognizing the key role young people play in the process of building a more equal, harmonious and sustainable society.
The Youth Forum is part of an initiative "Youth for Social Changes" implemented by the UNFPA in cooperation with the NCCE in the Kvemo Kartli region. The overall goal of the initiative is to educate, empower and engage young people in social change.
The Youth Forum has been held within the framework of the “Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Georgia (EVAWGG)” programme, funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
