Violence against women and girls and gender-based violence continue to be one of the most widespread human rights violations in the world. Persons with disabilities are three times more likely to experience different types of violence than persons without disabilities.

Within the UN Joint Programme „Transforming Social Protection for Persons with Disabilities in Georgia, UNFPA has been supporting capacity building of CSO/DPOs by building participatory advocacy platforms and supporting networks of PDOs for them to better organize and advocate for rights and inclusion of women and young persons with disabilities in the decision making and policy-making process.
