On November 19 and 24, the “60+ Clubs for Healthy and Active Life” based in Rustavi and Kutaisi municipalities hosted the meetings, during which the members of the club were informed about important issues. The meetings were organized by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office and the Liberty Bank.

Ms Nino Kavtaradze, acting Chairperson of the Rustavi City Council and Ms Lela Bakradze, Head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office greeted the guests of the event held at the Rustavi City Library on November 19.

Ms Maia Gotua, Director of the Centre of Allergy and Immunology, spoke to members of the “60+ Club” about the importance of vaccination. The members of “60+ Club” were given the opportunity to see some of the works by a famous photographer Ms Natela Grigalashvili.

On November 24, within the framework of the visit paid by the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Dr. Sabine Machl to Imereti and Guria, a similar meeting was hosted by “60+ Club” based in Kutaisi, where the members of the club were greeted by Ms Lela Bakradze, Head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office.

Ms Maia (Maka) Rukhadze, a representative of the Centre of Allergy and Immunology, spoke to the members of the “60+ Club” about the importance of vaccination in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. Ms Keti Bakradze – a well-known chef and restaurateur conducted a culinary master class for the club members in the new kitchen space arranged by the Liberty Bank. 

The “60+ Club for Healthy and Active Life" is an initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office, which promotes an active aging policy and strives to improve the quality of life of older people. It is a membership-based club, a space for the socialization for representatives of older generation, which aims to create a harmonious and diverse environment promoting active and healthy life. The Liberty Bank has been an active supporter of 60+ clubs in Rustavi and Kutaisi municipalities since 2020.
