United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Georgia Country Office and Avon Cosmetics Georgia (AVON) have united efforts to empower domestic violence survivors and their children.

Within the joint campaign, from February 2023, AVON started selling cosmetic products and accessories specially produced for charitable purposes. The profit from the sale of the products is fully transferred to the charity fund.

The campaign could not have been a success without the invaluable commitment of the cohort of AVON’s business partner women – promoting the fundraising to change the lives of other women.

The profit from the sales have been fully transferred to the charity fund to provide the shelter of the Anti-violence Network of Georgia with a spectrum of services, notably encompassing reproductive rights and psychological support.

UNFPA’s collaboration with AVON stands as a testament to the power of effective public-private partnerships in addressing social issues aimed to serving those left behind, particularly women and children affected by violence.

During her visit to Georgia, UNFPA Representative in Turkey, Country Director for Azerbaijan and Georgia, Mariam A. Khan, together with the Head of UNFPA Georgia CO, Mariam Bandzeladze, Commercial Head of AVON in Ukraine and Georgia, Volodymyr Nefedov, and Managing Director of AVON Georgia, Ana Tskhadadze, visited the shelter and met with Director of the Anti-violence Network of Georgia, Nato Shavlakadze.

The UNFPA and AVON have been enjoying close cooperation since 2020. The current stage of the partnership is taking place within the framework of the Joint UN Programme for Gender Equality supported by the Government of Sweden.

UNFPA remains committed to advocating for continued partnerships to undertake collaborative efforts to achieve tangible impact through strategic outreach and resource mobilization.
