"Equality Corner" opens at Daba Naruja library

On March 5, “Equality Corner” was opened at Daba Naruja library in Ozurgeti municipality, upon the initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), in cooperation with Palitra L Publishing. As a result, over 200 books on equality, empowerment of girls and woman, tolerance, and human rights have been donated to the local library.

The “Equality Corner” at Daba Naruja library was opened together with writer, TV presenter and Friend of UNFPA Georgia Alexandre Lortkipanidze, who spoke with adolescent girls and boys about importance of gender equality, other human values as well as the power of literature.

UNFPA Georgia Country Office has been opening "Equality Corners" in various regions of Georgia together with its partners since 2018 to make quality Georgian and foreign literature accessible by adolescents and youth in regions of Georgia.

The 22nd “Equality Corner” has opened within the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence" programme, funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
