On June 21-23, 2013, UNFPA organized training for Tbilisi and Kakheti-based journalists on Lopota, Kakheti. 35 journalists, bloggers, producers gathered to discuss Sensitive Reporting: Gender Equality, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights.

The training was organized by UNFPA within the frameworks of UN Joint Program “To Enhance Gender Equality in Georgia”, through generous support of Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

During these three days participants had a chance to talk to experts, share their thoughts and expertise on these issues, and discuss new media and new opportunities.

Moreover, attendees were given an opportunity to meet and arrange discussion with a scriptwriter of the famous Georgian TV series “Chemi Tsolis Dakalebi”. The guest speaker shared her experience on how to touch upon the sensitive issues, thus, reconsider the stereotypes prevailing in the society.

Alongside with the training, a side session was held for the TV producers and UNFPA staff where the UNFPA mandate and ICPD agenda was discussed and areas of further cooperation identified.
