Public Safety Command Center “112” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) presented an updated mobile application and a video.
The Heads of different Departments of MIA and the representatives of international and partner organizations attended the event. The Director of the Public Safety Command Center “112” – Giorgi Arsoshvili, the Ambassador of Sweden in Georgia- Ulrik Tidestrom and the Head of the UNFPA Georgia Country Office - Lela Bakradze delivered the opening remarks.
Detailed information was provided regarding the implemented changes in the “112” mobile application in a form of presentation. As a part of the update, information regarding early/childhood marriage was added at the “Advices” section: what is early marriage, how it is legally regulated and how is the perpetrator punished. 112 application is already available in Armenian and Azerbaijani languages.
In addition, it is now possible for deaf and hearing-impaired persons to contact 112 through the application by making a video call. The calls received this way are managed by sign language operators of “112”.
At the end of the event, the Director of Public Safety Command Center "112" - Giorgi Arsoshvili thanked the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for the continuous support and fruitful cooperation.
