UNDP, UNFPA to reveal a study on attitudes towards gender equality in Georgia

On Tuesday, 16 June, 3:30 pm, at the Writers’ House of Georgia, 13 I. Machabeli Str, Tbilisi, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will reveal the findings of a recent study on public perceptions on gender roles and attitudes among Georgian society.

The research "Men, Women and Gender Relations in Georgia: Public Perceptions and Attitudes”, conducted under the Sweden-funded UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality in Georgia, is building on the results of a similar study carried out in 2013 and unveils the progress made over the last seven years as well as remaining disparities in the social perceptions of gender roles and attitudes in Georgia.

UNDP Head, Louisa Vinton; UNFPA Head Lela Bakradze; Ulrik Tideström, Ambassador of Sweden to Georgia and Armenia and Lela Akiashvilli, the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Human Rights and Gender Equality, will present the main findings and open a floor for discussion.

The event will be transmitted over Zoom and social media platforms. To register and  attend virtually, please follow the link.
